This base is 5mm thick basswood.  There are 104 holes that are 10 mm in diameter. They are super thick and durable and such a lovely natural shade with beautiful grains and character.  
 
PAD:
The optional Bamboo Waterproof pad measures 70CM x 40CM and comes with a removable and washable water proof cover.
